1. Our Commitment to Social Value
Bash EcoCleaners Service Ltd is committed to delivering social value through our business activities. In accordance with the Social Value Act 2012 (Public Services (Social Value) Act), we consider how our operations can improve the economic, social, and environmental well-being of the communities in which we work.
Social value is integral to our business model, not an afterthought. As a company that delivers services in communities across England, we recognise our responsibility to create positive change beyond our core cleaning services.
2. Employment & Skills
- Local employment: We recruit locally wherever possible, creating jobs in the communities where we deliver services. Our franchise model further supports local entrepreneurship and job creation
- Living Wage: We pay at or above the Real Living Wage to all employees, ensuring fair pay that reflects the cost of living
- Skills development: We provide comprehensive training and development programmes informed by recognised industry standards, including those set by the British Institute of Cleaning Science (BICSc)
- Work experience: We offer work experience placements and apprenticeships, providing entry routes into employment for young people and career changers
- Supporting disadvantaged groups: We actively work to remove barriers to employment for underrepresented groups, including ex-offenders (through our responsible recruitment policy), people with disabilities, and those returning to work after long absences
3. Community Engagement
- Community cleaning: We provide pro-bono or reduced-rate cleaning services to local charities, community centres, and places of worship
- Volunteering: We support employee volunteering and encourage our teams to engage with local community initiatives
- Local partnerships: We partner with local organisations, charities, and social enterprises to create mutual benefit
- Schools engagement: We engage with local schools to promote careers in facilities management and environmental awareness
4. Environmental Responsibility
- Eco-friendly cleaning: Our core proposition is built on environmentally responsible cleaning using biodegradable, non-toxic products
- Carbon reduction: We measure and work to reduce our carbon footprint through efficient route planning, electric vehicle transition, and energy-efficient operations
- Waste minimisation: We implement waste reduction strategies across our operations, including reducing single-use plastics and promoting recycling
- Supply chain: We prioritise suppliers who share our environmental values and operate sustainably
For more detail, see our Environmental Policy and Sustainability Policy.
5. Supply Chain & SME Support
- We are a Small and Medium-Sized Enterprise (SME) ourselves and understand the challenges of growing a business
- We source from local and UK-based suppliers wherever possible, supporting the local economy
- We pay suppliers promptly and maintain fair, transparent commercial relationships
- Our franchise model creates opportunities for local entrepreneurs to own and grow their own cleaning businesses
6. Equality, Diversity & Inclusion
We are committed to building a diverse workforce that reflects the communities we serve. We actively promote equality of opportunity and work to eliminate discrimination in all aspects of our business. See our Equality & Diversity Policy for full details.
7. Measuring Social Value
We measure and report on our social value contributions, including:
- Number of local jobs created and sustained
- Training hours and qualifications achieved
- Apprenticeship and work placement opportunities provided
- Community volunteering hours contributed
- Environmental impact metrics (carbon, waste, water)
- Spend with local and SME suppliers
We provide social value reporting to our public sector clients as part of contract management and are prepared to use recognised frameworks such as the TOMs (Themes, Outcomes and Measures) framework.
